People across the city were busy digging out Tuesday after the second snow storm in a week. Cockrum and Bordelon shoveled driveways and sidewalks for nearby residents. Classes for Ottawa, West Franklin, Wellsville and Central Heights school districts were closed Tuesday and Wednesday because of the snow. Classes were canceled for a third day today for Central Heights’ schools because of a power outage related to this week’s heavy snowfall. Three power poles east of the school were damaged this week, Jim White, Central Heights superintendent, said. Crews were expected to make needed repairs soon, White said.
