Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 1:53 p.m. Friday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., a 37-year-old Holton woman on suspicion of trafficking contraband into a correctional facility and possession of marijuana.

• 7:53 p.m. Friday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., a 26-year-old Ottawa woman on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear in court.

• 12:30 a.m. Saturday, John Brown and Tennessee roads, a 57-year-old Topeka man on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia, after being stopped for a traffic infraction. A 28-year-old Rossville woman who was a passenger in the vehicle also was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony interference with law enforcement and possession of paraphernalia.

• 7:48 p.m. Sunday, Monroe Street, Pomona, a 23-year-old Pomona man on suspicion of domestic battery, interference with law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia, after being involved in a physical altercation with a Pomona woman.

• 2:29 a.m. Sunday, 200 block of East Fifth Street, an 18-year-old Ottawa man on suspicion of driving under the influence and transporting an open container, after being contacted on a traffic stop.

• Sunday, no time provided, 1400 block of South Mulberry Street, a 19-year-old Lake Quivira woman on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• 2:41 p.m. Sunday, 400 block of Louisiana Road, a Richmond woman reported her ex-spouse violated a protection from abuse order. The case is under investigation.

Thefts

• 10 a.m. Sunday, 1500 block of Sand Creek Road, a 71-year-old Chillicothe, Missouri, man reported generators, a trail camera, patio furniture and power tools were stolen from a property. Estimated loss was $2,290, according to a sheriff’s report.

Accidents

• 3:08 p.m. Friday, 300 block of West 13th Street, a 2014 Nissan passenger car driven by Debra Vance, 57, Ottawa, backed into a 2013 Ford passenger car owned by Dennis Nowatzke, 52, Ottawa. No injuries, according to a police report. Vance was cited for improper backing, the report said.

• 5:41 p.m. Friday, 3500 block of U.S. 59, a 2006 Toyota Prius driven by Madeline Schulte, 20, Lawrence, was southbound on the U.S. 59 off-ramp leading to I-35 when Schulte lost control of the vehicle and it entered a ditch and overturned, according to a sheriff’s report. Schulte sustained minor injuries in the crash, the report said.

• 1 a.m. Monday, 4800 block of John Brown Road, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Fredrick King, 23, La Cygne, was eastbound on John Brown Road when it struck a deer, according to a sheriff’s report. No injuries, the report said.

• 2:22 a.m. Monday, 4500 block of U.S. 59, a 2004 Cadillac Escalade driven by Joshua Love, 30, Ottawa, struck a deer, according to a sheriff’s report. No injuries, the report said.

• 1:42 p.m. Friday, 1300 block of South Beech Street, a 74-year-old Ottawa man reported someone took his 2015 Nissan pickup without permission and then brought it back to his residence. The case is under investigation.

• 2:22 p.m. Friday, 1600 block of South Poplar Street, an Ottawa woman reported her 17-year-old daughter ran away from home. The daughter was later located.

• 5:36 p.m. Friday, 200 block of East 13th Street, a Rantoul woman reported being battered by a known Rantoul man. The case is under investigation.

• 6:16 p.m. Saturday, 1800 block of South Ash Street, an Ottawa woman reported a 17-year-old Ottawa boy ran away from home. The boy was later located.

• 11:45 p.m. Saturday, 800 block of South Oak Street, a 22-year-old Ottawa woman was issued a notice to appear in court on suspicion of unlawfully hosting minors consuming alcoholic beverages, after being contacted by officers.

• 12:49 a.m. Sunday, 300 block of South Elm Street, a 24-year-old Wellsville woman was issued a notice to appear in court on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, after being contacted by officers.

• 3:01 p.m. Friday, 100 block of East First Street, a 1996 Pierce fire truck driven by Clinton Spears, 24, Ottawa, struck a pole, according to a police report. No injuries, the report said.

• 3:06 p.m. Saturday, 900 block of West K-68, a 2005 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle driven by Karen Edgecomb, 38, Garnett, struck a 1999 Buick passenger car driven by Marsha Hermreck, 67, Ottawa, according to a police report. One occupant was transported to Ransom Memorial Hospital, 1301 S. Main St., Ottawa, with unknown injuries, according to a police report. Edgecomb was cited for failure to yield, the report said.

• 8:29 a.m. Sunday, 200 block of East 15th Street, a 1999 Plymouth driven by Dorothy Hewitt, 95, Ottawa, was turning south onto Cedar Street from 15th Street when it struck a bicycle ridden by Robert Fangman, 54, Ottawa, as it went through the intersection, according to a police report. Fangman was transported to Ransom Memorial Hospital, 1301 S. Main St., Ottawa, with minor injuries, according to the report. Hewitt was issued a citation for inattentive driving, the report said.

• 6:29 p.m. Sunday, 100 block of East 12th Street, Khristin Hedges, 27, Ottawa, reported an unknown vehicle struck her parked 2014 Chevrolet and left the scene.
