1 FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR — Although the 152nd Franklin County Fair began Wednesday, events continue through Sunday. The annual barbecue — one of the fair’s most anticipated attractions — returns 5 p.m. today. Professional cowboys and cowgirls will compete 8 p.m. today and Friday in the rodeo. Homegrown produce is to be available 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today through Saturday night, at the Food Garden. The livestock auction is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, with the Demolition Derby concluding the fair 7 p.m. Saturday.
2 JOHN WAYNE — Join the Ottawa Co-op for a free showing of a classic John Wayne movie, “El Dorado,” 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium, 301 S. Hickory St., Ottawa. Concessions will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6 p.m. The 1967 film is not rated.
3 CHILDREN’S THEATER PRODUCTION — Check out the children’s theater production “Back to the Summer” 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ottawa Memorial Auditorium, 301 S. Hickory St., Ottawa. Written by Wade Bradford, the show follows Liam, Scott, and Shelley, who use a time machine to restart the summer all over again. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned when you’re using a time machine. The show is sponsored by the OMA and Ottawa Recreation Commission.
