Franklin County residents have a week to register for a possible tire collection day later this fall, according to a news release. Residents need to contact the Franklin County Conservation District, 343 W. 23rd St., Suite 2, Ottawa, by 3:30 p.m. Friday to register.

The registration process consists of providing the exact number of tires, off rims, that will be disposed of per size. Size categories are: ATV/riding mower; passenger car/pickup; semi truck; skid loader; front tractor (old small style); front tractor (newer large size) and rear tractor/combine, the release said.

There is no guarantee the tires will be collected, but only those registered by Friday will be eligible if a collection date is set, the release said. There will not be a general public collection.
