A boating incident Sunday at Melvern Lake resulted in four injuries, according to an Osage County sheriff’s press release.

The sheriff’s office responded to the call along with Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, US Army Corp of Engineer Rangers, Osage County fire district No. 3 and Osage County Emergency Medical Services, the release said.

It was discovered a pontoon boat driven by Stephan Martin, Gardner, struck a ski boat, driven by Earl Baker, Eskridge. Martin and three other occupants in the pontoon boat were uninjured, according to the release. Baker and the three occupants of the tube behind the boat were transported by EMS crews to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the release said.

The incident is under investigation.
