1 FAMILY FUN — Summers are for playing. The Eighth Annual Ottawa Play Day is encouraging families to get outside and get going 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park, 320 N. Locust St., Ottawa. According to a news release, the day will include “Imagination Playground in a Box,” among other large games. Smaller activities include catch, water games, parachute, face painting and snacks. In case of rain, the event will be canceled. Play Task Force, Rotary Club and volunteers make the event possible, in addition to funding from the city.

2 NIGHT OUT — National Night Out is planned for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at registered neighborhood block parties in Ottawa.

3 STATE TOURNAMENT — Buy some peanuts and Cracker Jacks as the Ottawa Arrows look to snag their third consecutive state title this week. While play for the 2017 AAA State Tournament has already begun, games continue into Saturday. Ottawa was set to play Hays Wednesday night at Orlis Cox Sports Complex, 901 W. Second St., Ottawa.
