Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 2:12 a.m. Monday, 2500 block of I-35, a 25-year-old Overbrook man on suspicion of driving while revoked, after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• 11:13 a.m. Monday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., a 20-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man on a Franklin County warrant for probation violation.

Police Department Arrests

• 12:05 a.m. Monday, 500 block of North Spruce Street, a 17-year-old Ottawa boy on suspicion of resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, and curfew violation, according to a police report. A 15-year-old Ottawa girl also was cited and released on suspician of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, the report said.

• 12:36 p.m. Monday, 200 block of South Main Street, a 54-year-old Ottawa woman on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 1:48 p.m. Monday, 1100 block of South Ash Street, a 54-year-old Ottawa man on suspicion of driving under the influence, after being involved in a non-injury wreck, according to a police report.

• 10:45 p.m. Monday, 1100 block of South Walnut Street, a 29-year-old Ottawa man on a City of Ottawa warrant and on suspicion of interfering with law enforcement by providing a false name.

Thefts

• 12:47 p.m. Sunday, 2600 block of Sand Creek Road, a 76-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown subject stole a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse from his driveway. Estimated loss was $15,000. The vehicle was located in Topeka and seized by the Topeka Police Department until it could be processed, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 11:42 p.m. Monday, 600 block of Madison Street, Pomona, a 69-year-old Pomona man reported someone entered his shed within the past week and stole power tools. Estimated loss was $700.

Accidents

• 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, 3400 block of U.S. 59, a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Cynthia Weidl, 42, Ottawa, was merging onto U.S. 59 from I-35 when she lost control and the vehicle left the roadway, striking a ditch, according to a sheriff’s report. No injuries, the report said.

• 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, 4700 block of Jackson Road, Rantoul, a 2007 Toyota Tundra driven by Charles Lucas III, 28, Ottawa, was eastbound on Jackson Road when it struck and killed a cow that was in the roadway, according to a sheriff’s report. Lucas was uninjured, according to the report.

• 5:39 p.m. Monday, 1600 block of Osage Drive, a 61-year-old Ottawa woman reported unknown subjects entered her residence and stole items.

• 10:49 p.m. Tuesday, Casey’s General Store, 1019 W. Seventh St., a 20-year-old Pomona woman reported an unknown subject stole motor fuel.

Accidents

• 1:48 p.m. Monday, 1100 block of South Ash Street, a 1995 Jeep driven by Michael Thomasson, 54, Ottawa, struck a parked 1986 GMC, according to a police report. No injuries, the report said.

• 2:31 p.m. Monday, 500 block of South Main Street, a 2004 Ford driven by Haylee Mcaneney, 18, Baldwin City, struck a 2013 Chevrolet driven by Phyllis Burkdoll, 55, Rantoul. Mcaneney was cited for inattentive driving, according to a police report. No injuries, the report said.

• 6:08 p.m. Monday, 2000 block of South Princeton Street, a 2015 Chevrolet driven by Wanda Heins, 62, Pomona, struck a 2005 Cadillac driven by Kathleen Niehoff, 67, Ottawa, according to a police report. No injuries, the report said.
