• 5:36 p.m. Sunday, 200 block of South Beech Street, a 16-year-old Ottawa resident on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 8:55 p.m. Sunday, 700 block of South Willow Street, a 31-year-old Topeka man on suspicion of disorderly conduct and pedestrian under the influence, after he was contacted on a call for service.

• 11:12 p.m. Sunday, 600 block of South Burroughs Street, a 26-year-old Ottawa man on a City of Ottawa warrant.

Sheriff’s Department News

Thefts

• Friday, no time given, a 57-year-old Wellsville man reported subjects forced their way into his residence and took more than $1,500 worth of property, including firearms. After an investigation, a 19-year-old homeless man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, felony theft, and criminal damage to property. A 20-year-old Wellsville man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and felony theft, according to a sheriff’s report. The stolen firearms were recovered, the report said.

• 7 p.m. Saturday, 3400 block of Florida Road, a 53-year-old Pomona woman reported three firearms and money were stolen from a residence. Estimated loss was $625.

Accidents

• 8 p.m. Friday, 1400 block of I-35, a 2002 Lexus driven by Teddy Wilson, 59, Ottawa, was northbound on I-35 when it struck a deer. No injuries, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 1:28 p.m. Sunday, 4500 block of U.S. 59, a 2003 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jamie Olsen, 31, Garnett, was northbound on U.S. 59 when it caught fire due to the engine overheating, according to a sheriff’s report. No injuries, the report said.

• 5:45 a.m. Monday, 3000 block of Vermont Road, a 2012 Ford F-250 driven by Carl Wittry, 55, Greeley, was northbound on Vermont Road when it struck a deer, according to a sheriff’s report. No injuries, the report said.

Thefts

• 1:50 a.m. Sunday, 1000 block of West 15th Street, a 26-year-old Ottawa man reported someone stole his 1998 Toyota pickup and later returned it with damage. Case is under investigation.
