1 JUMP INTO AUTUMN — The leaves have started turning shades of red, gold and orange, and autumn is officially upon us. Get into the fall season by visiting Camp Chippewa’s second annual Fall Festival every weekend in October starting 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The fun at the camp, 2577 Idaho Road, Ottawa, includes a 10-acre corn maze, kiddie maze, pedal carts, pony rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, petting zoo, pumpkins, yard games, concessions and more.

Children 3 and under are free; children and students are $8 and adults are $10. After this weekend, hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays until Oct. 29.

2 QUILT DESIGNER — Erica Plank, owner and designer of Unseen Hands, who designs and creates quilt patterns for others’ enjoyment, will be visiting Ottawa next week. Based out of Puyallup, Washington, Plank will share her love of design with her unique embroidered quilt patterns at 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Franklin County Visitors Center, 2011 E. Logan St., Ottawa, according to a news release. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Plank will also visit Chris’ Corner Quilt Shop, 3593 Old US Highway 59, Ottawa, to teach quilters how to color on fabric with colored pencils or crayons, and then enhance quilt designs with embroidery. Plank will furnish kits with nearly all supplies included, according to the event’s Facebook page. For Tuesday’s event, enrollment is required and space is limited.
