Police Department Arrests

• 7:07 a.m. Wednesday, 1500 block of North Cherry Street, a 2000 Suzuki driven by Jeremy D. Lankard, 35, Garnett, left the roadway and crashed. No injuries reported. Lankard was arrested at the scene on suspicion of violation of restrictions, no insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

• 7:43 p.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., William Worthy Jr., 24, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 10:41 p.m. Wednesday, 1000 block of South Hickory Street, Corey Denny, 34, Ottawa, on a Waseca County, Minnesota, warrant.

• 5:15 a.m. Thursday, 500 bock of South Locust Street, Misty Ballentine, 43, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 4:22 p.m. Thursday, Ottawa University, 1001 S. Cedar St., Kendrick Rivera, 20, Ottawa, on suspicion of interference with law enforcement.

• 3:54 a.m. Friday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Devin Jones, 33, Burlingame, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• Wednesday, a 57-year-old woman turned in an item that possibly contained child pornography. The case is under investigation.

• 6:47 a.m. Thursday, 300 block of Madison Street, Pomona, a 26-year-old Pomona woman reported the back window of her 2002 Dodge Intrepid was shattered by an unknown suspect. Estimated damage was $300.

Thefts

• 1:42 p.m. Thursday, 2700 block of Kingman Road, an 81-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown person stole about $90 of gasoline from a truck he owns.

• 4:56 p.m. Thursday, 500 block of East Second Street, Pomona, a 40-year-old Pomona woman who works as a caregiver reported someone entered a man’s Pomona residence, stole keys and damaged a vehicle. Estimated damage was $1,750.

Accidents

• 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, 1400 block of Texas Road, Rantoul, a 2014 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jimmie Patton, 59, Wellsville, was southbound on Texas Road when it struck a deer.

• 1:49 a.m. Friday, 1500 block of I-35 at milepost 171, a 2010 Nissan Cube owned by Laura Locke, 22, Wichita, was northbound on I-35 when it struck a deer.

• 9:29 a.m. Wednesday, Eugene Field School, 720 S. Tremont Ave., a 55-year-old Ottawa woman reported a 17-year-old Ottawa boy as a runaway.

• 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, Eugene Field School, 720 S. Tremont Ave., a juvenile-aged boy and girl accused each other of inappropriate touching.

• 4:39 p.m. Thursday, ECKAN, 1320 S. Ash St., a 49-year-old Baldwin City man reported an unknown suspect damaged an ECKAN van window.

Thefts

• 10:54 a.m. Wednesday, Earnest Spencer Powdercoating, 1510 N. Davis Ave., a 42-year-old Ottawa woman reported items belonging to Central RV were stolen and damaged. The items were later recovered.

• 1:06 p.m. Wednesday, 300 block of South Maple Street, a 27-year-old Rantoul woman reported an unknown suspect struck her vehicle and left the scene.

• 7:41 a.m. Wednesday, Fourth and Main streets, a 70-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown vehicle struck a planter box and plants at the corner of Fourth and Main streets and then left the area.
