Newton city commission to meet
The Newton City Commission will meet for both a work session and a regular meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in Newton City Hall, 201 E. Sixth.
The commission will first meet for a 5:30 p.m for a work session. The only agenda item is a discussion of needs at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
The commission will meet for a regular business meeting at 7 p.m. at city hall. Agenda items include community recognitions, Nov. 7 election results, a public hearing on a budget amendment, the vacation of easements in the Newton Industrial Park, a hearing about a property at 527 E. 11, a letter of credit for Autumn Glen Fourth Addition, a staff report about wildlife in the community, improvements to a taxiway at the Newton City/County Airport, a settlement of a lawsuit, meeting dates in December, meeting dates in January and a period for public comment.
North Newton council to meet
The North Newton City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in North Newton City Hall, 2700 N. Main.
Agenda items include an agreement creating an environmental fund; cost statement for extending water and sewer lines; an audit of 2017; discussion of hiring an additional police officer; and a period for public comment.
County commission to meet
The Harvey County Board of Commissioners will meet at 8:15 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Harvey County Courthouse, 800 N. Main.
Agenda items include canvassing the recent election, solid waste fees, a KDOT grant application, resale of properties, a Camp Hawk recommendation and a period of public comment.
BOE to meet
The Newton USD 373 Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in the meeting room of McKinley Administrative Center, 308 E. First.
Agenda items include approval of a Walton mascot, a bond campaign update, an audit report, new courses, a technology budget and a period for public comment.
