This year’s State of the State address will be video streamed live on Gov. Sam Brownback’s YouTube channel. The channel can be accessed at Subscribing to the channel and turning on alerts will allow you to receive notifications when the broadcast begins.

Brownback plans to give his eighth State of the State address to a joint session of the Legislature at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the House of Representatives chamber.

The 2018 Legislature convenes on Monday in Topeka.

Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer’s office also has announced a press conference has been scheduled for noon Monday in the State Capitol building where the lieutenant governor and Department for Children and Families Secretary Gina Meier-Hummel plan to announce DCF budget enhancements.

Additionally, the governor has asked Colyer to meet with key advocacy groups to address items included in the budget proposal which will be released the day after the State of the State speech, the release said.
