2 ADOPT A PET — From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday only, Loyd Builders Inc. is sponsoring all pet adoption fees at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, 3173 Highway K-68, Ottawa. According to PPAS, the longer a stay in a shelter is for an animal, the more likely that pet is to develop health and behavioral problems, which costs money to treat. “...The faster we help animals find homes, the happier and healthier they’ll be, and more lives will be saved,” the event’s Facebook page said, adding that with waived adoption fees, adopters can spend that money instead on toys, food and supplies. For questions or more information, call PPAS at (785) 242-2967, or visit www.prairiepaws.org
