She was a member of the Lucky Grange and was involved in their fund-raising activities. Doris will be remembered by all the family for her delicious chocolate and lemon pies, dinner and cinnamon rolls and the wonderful beef and noodle dinners, and the special Kodak moments.
She was a dietary aid at Sunset Nursing Home for 13 years. She took a leave of absence devoting her life to care for her husband and mother.
She started her education at Liberty and New Union one-room schoolhouse in Franklin County. Then to elementary school at Hartford for the fourth through sixth grade, and in 1942, Doris moved to Neosho Falls, finishing her education in 1948.
