• 8:27 a.m. Thursday, Walmart Supercenter, 2101 S. Princeton St., James Adell, 42, on suspicion of assault, after an altercation with a family member.

• 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Elana Smithhisler, 22, Paola, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 11:03 p.m. Thursday, 900 block of West Second Street, Onika Nunez, 45, Baldwin City, on a Douglas County warrant and driving while suspended, after being contacted during a traffic stop.

Accidents

• 8:30 a.m. Thursday, 900 block of Jackson Road, Williamsburg, a 2015 Chevrolet Cruz driven by John Shepherd, 40, Pomona, was westbound on Jackson Road when it struck a deer in the roadway.

• 6:32 p.m. Thursday, 3000 Vermont Road, Wellsville, a 2017 Kia Forte driven by Barry Richards, 56, Wellsville, was northbound on Vermont Road when it struck a deer in the roadway. Richards initially stopped the vehicle and then continued to drive north to find somewhere safe to pull over, according to a sheriff’s report. During this time, the vehicle caught on fire, the report said. No injuries were reported.

• 1:31 p.m. Wednesday, ECKAN, 1320 S. Ash St., a 42-year-old Ottawa woman reported damage to her personal property.

• 1:12 a.m. Thursday, 1700 block of South Elm Street, a 17-year-old Valley Falls girl was taken into protective custody, after she was reported as a runaway from another jurisdiction.

Thefts

• 8:51 a.m. Thursday, Trendel Lumber, 1516 S. Main St., a 44-year-old Ottawa man reported the theft of lumber from the business.

• Wednesday: 4700 block of Vermont Road, suspicious vehicle; 700 block of Main Street, public assist; 700 block of Main Street, public assist; K-68 and Pleasant Valley Road, warrant arrest; 400 block of Locust Street, warrant arrest; 300 block of Walnut Street, medical call.
