1 It is spring clean up time across the county. Franklin County residents will have their transfer station fees waived this Friday and Saturday. Transfer station will be open Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. County residents will be able to haul trash, brush, scrap metal, and construction/demolition materials to the transfer station, 3323 Osborn Terrace, Ottawa, or the C&D landfill free of charge. Exclusions to the waived fee include tires, appliances containing Freon and commercial/business accounts. For more information, contact the transfer station at (785) 242-4612.

2 The Ottawa High School Theatre department will present a production of “Fools” by Neil Simon at Ottawa Middle School, 1320 1230 S. Ash St., Ottawa. Three performances are planned. On April 27 and 28 the show will be at 7 p.m. A matinee performance on April 29 will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets for the production are $8.

3 Donna Hensley and David Adamson will be special guest stars Saturday night at the Grand O’Opry. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium, Third and Hickory streets, Ottawa. Tickets are $10 at the door.
