The West Franklin High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) will represent their school and Kansas at nationals this summer in Atlanta, Georgia, according to a news release.

The leaders are recognized for community service projects they put together and will use a portfolio and oral presentation for the competition. West Franklin FCCLA accomplished 58 projects this school year, the release said.

There are two groups in competition as well as student leader Madison Shotton and Merritta Combs, WFHS sponsor, being judges for the STAR Events.

Shotton is West Franklin’s first Kansas FCCLA state officer and will work with her officer team in leading meetings at nationals, the release said.
