Western Plains Medical Complex continues its quest at becoming one of the top medical providers in the area and is racking up the accolades along the way.

Recently, WPMC received the Regional Business Excellence Award, an award that recognizes businesses and entrepreneurs for their leadership making a strong economy both locally and for the state.

"We’re so honored to serve this amazing community we call home," said Kerry Tirman, CEO of Western Plains Medical Complex. "We’re proud to be able to support our community in a number of ways, including creating excellent workplaces and fulfilling jobs for our employees, the taxes we pay, delivering healthcare services to all of our neighbors – regardless of their ability to pay – and supporting local organizations and events."

"On behalf of every at Western Plains, thank you for continuing to choose us for your healthcare needs."

According to Dodge City/Ford County Economic Development, the intent of the program is to recognize Kansas businesses for their contributions to the local and state economy.

"Kansas businesses continue to be the foundation of our economy, communities and overall quality of life, and Business Appreciation Month is the state's way of recognizing Kansas businesses for all they do to keep Kansas strong," said Tara Schraeder, business development coordinator for Dodge City/Ford County Economic Development.

Award nominees are selected through categories in manufacturing/distribution, service, retail, and hospital/non-profit.

"The awards salute companies that have undertaken expansions, made capital investments in the state, given back to their community and helped build up the Sunflower State’s workforce," said Schraeder.

"Winners were selected from the service, retail, hospital-nonprofit and manufacturing-distribution industries."
