Vangie Wendelburg will celebrate her 80th birthday on July 17 in Stafford.

Born in 1938, Evangeline Adell McComb (known as “Vangie” to friends and family) grew up on a farm near Zenith. In May 1957, she married Robert “Bob” Wendelburg, with whom she spent 55 wonderful years until his death in 2012.

In addition to her role as farm wife and mother to three children, Vangie has been active in many church and community organizations over the years. She has been named Y-Teen Queen, Flying Farmer Queen, and more recently, she and Bob were named Kansas Master Farmer and Master Farm Homemaker. Vangie has also faithfully served as secretary of Calvary Baptist Church for over 30 years and has long been devoted to mentoring children through the AWANA program.
