Sheriff’s Office Arrests

• 10:21 a.m. Monday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Nathan Kring, 37, Baldwin City, on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear.

• 2:30 p.m. Monday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Russel Christensen, 26, Eureka, on a Franklin County warrant for probation violation warrant.

• 10:04 a.m. Tuesday, 3400 block of Old U.S. 59, Marvin McWhorter III, 36, homeless, on suspicion of felony flee and elude, reckless driving, criminal damage to property, and possession of drug paraphernalia, after being involved in pursuit. It was determined during the pursuit, a trailer Marvin’s vehicle was hauling had been stolen from COF Training Services, according to a sheriff’s report. The trailer was recovered and returned to the owner, the report said.

• 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Darren Dicenzo, 46, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, North King Street, an Ottawa woman reported she had been battered by a known individual and her property had been broken. Tony Denney, 28, Ottawa, was later arrested in connection with the case, according to a police report.

• 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, 800 block of South Princeton Street, Steven C. Williams, 56, Ottawa, on a Shawnee County warrant.

Incidents

• 8:14 a.m. Monday, 3000 block of Georgia Road, a 58-year-old Ottawa man reported his electric fence was cut by an unknown person. Estimated damage was $75.

Thefts

• 2:24 p.m. Monday, 1445 U.S. 59, Princeton, an employee of Princeton Quick Shop reported an unknown subject left the store without paying for gas and fountain drinks. Estimated loss was $76.45.

• 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, 400 block of West Fourth Street, Pomona, Lydia Harris, 18, Ottawa, was located at a residence in Pomona and charged with theft, on suspicion of taking prescription pills that did not belong to her, according to a sheriff’s report. A report will be forwarded to the county attorney’s office.

Accidents

• 8:35 a.m. Monday, 3900 block of U.S. 59, Ottawa, a 2004 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Adrian Wakolee, 36, Lawrence, was southbound on U.S. 59 when a tire blew out, causing the vehicle to enter the median and overturn. None of the vehicle’s occupants were injured in the crash, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 2:57 p.m. Monday, 1200 block of Labette Road, a 2015 Hyundai Accent driven by Amber Neal, 23, Ottawa, was westbound on Labette Road when it struck a deer that jumped into the roadway. No injuries.

• 11:44 a.m. Tuesday, 1900 block of Oregon Road, a 2012 Ford Focus driven by Harold Pennington, 82, Rantoul, was southbound on Oregon Road when it was struck from the rear by a 1994 Dodge Ram driven by Jason Stephens, 42, Princeton. No injuries.

Thefts

• 9:26 a.m. Tuesday, 300 block of East Ninth Street, a 43-year-old Ottawa woman reported a known suspect committed theft. The case is under investigation.

• 10:42 a.m. Tuesday, COF Training Services, 1516 N. Davis Ave., a 29-year-old Ottawa woman reported a trailer was stolen from COF. The trailer was recovered and Marvin McWhorter III, 36, was arrested in connection with the case, according to a police report.

Accidents

• 10:31 a.m. Monday, 100 block of North Main Street, a 2015 Ford driven by Heather Michael, 22, Ottawa, left the roadway to avoid a vehicle and struck a building, according to a police report. The case is under investigation.
