Join us at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Sherman, this Sunday at 8:15 a.m. in the chapel as Pastor Mark Miller brings a message from 1 Peter 1:17-23, “Things We Should Fear.” There will be no W@9 or 10:30 a.m. services or Christian education classes this week. Everyone is invited to meet at Lincoln Elementary School at 9 a.m. and pitch in for a work day in the Lincoln neighborhood. The deacons will prepare and serve a meal at the Christian Soup Kitchen on Thursday.

At South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, this is Youth Sunday. The Youth Group will be serving a light breakfast "Garden of Feedin'" at 9 a.m., proceeds to help fund their activities. During the 10:30 a.m. worship service Pastor Claire will bless backpacks. Students can bring their backpacks for this blessing. From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 15, we will be serving our August Community Soup Supper. Dinner includes a bowl of chicken noodle soup, salad, a dessert, iced tea or coffee. Come enjoy the food and fellowship, donations accepted, but not required.

Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th Ave., will have services at 5:30 p.m. today in the Parish Hall and 10 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary. Emanuel's Arts Committee will meet after worship Sunday. The Worship Committee also will meet at that same time. Emanuel's Annual Car Show is Sunday. The car (and truck and motorcycle) show is from 4 to 7 p.m. on the church lawn. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and plenty of indoor seating. The entry fee for those entering a vehicle is $10. The event is a benefit for Matthew McCue. Questions? Contact Terry Brigman. All are welcome to join the members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 East 12th, for worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday morning. Bible studies for all ages are at 9:45 a.m. The Adult Committee meets at noon. A special Congregational Meeting will be held at 1 p.m. for the purpose of voting to issue a call for a Senior Pastor. The junior and senior high will get together from 3 to 6 p.m. for a Pool Party and "Pig Trough" ice cream sundae. Worship Committee meets Monday evening at 7 p.m. Children's Nurture meets Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. The Keenagers meet Thursday at noon at the church. Box lunches from KFC are being ordered for lunch, and Chuck Pyle is the guest speaker. Men's Bible Study is on Friday at 11:30 a.m.

New Life Christian Church, 2928 N Hendricks, invites you to join us in worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Pastor John Frey will bring the message, “The Lord Gives the Victory,” taken from Psalm 129. Wednesday Night Bible Study is at 7 p.m. Paul's Epistle to the Romans is our current study. Join us as we explore Paul’s advice and encouragement appropriate for our times as well. City Wide Prayer Gathering meets Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to come and praise, give thanks and pray for revival and unity among the congregations of Christ within our community. Join us and others throughout the community in "A Celebration of Faith & family,” at 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. Grace Episcopal Church is located on the corner of 20th and Main at 2 Hyde Park Dr. We have two Sunday morning services. The 8 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite I is spoken and the 10:15 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite II has music. The community is invited to come to either service as our guest and see what walking in the Episcopal way is all about. We have a time of fellowship and snacks after the late service in our Parish Hall that everyone is invited to. The adult Sunday School class led by our rector. Fr. Ted Blakley is currently reading through the Book of Mark. This Sunday, Aug. 12, the UTX Youth Group led by Mtr. Amy and Brandon Long will be serving breakfast at 9 a.m. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew will meet at noon. On Tuesday, Aug. 14 A Celebration of Women's Ministries will be at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Women of all ages are welcome to come. On Wednesdays we have two services in our Chapel at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Our adult Bible study is led by Fr. Larry Carver at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Community Clothes Closet will be open on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Everything is free and the closet is open to the public. New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 East 25th, welcomes all to join in worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. A time of coffee and fellowship follows with Sunday School at 10:50. The Rev.
