The Franklin County Fair board Monday received a check of $5,153 from Modern Woodman of American through the organization’s Matching Funds Program, a Modern Woodmen of America official said.

Dale Pearson, a local representative, said the money was raised during the Cowboy Ranch Rodeo and included a $2,500 match from Modern Woodman. The funds will be used to make improvements to the fair grounds.

“The community truly came together to support a local need,” Pearson said.
