Steve E. Burkhart, Ottawa police sergeant, was placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of a criminal investigation, Adam Weingartner, assistant police chief, said Tuesday night.
He was a member of the Ottawa Police Department for 13 years, Weingartner said.
