A woman reported to authorities that shots were fired and she was maced in the face during a fight at a Leavenworth park, a police spokesman said.

The incident reportedly took place at 9 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Riverfront Park Road.

The 18-year-old victim reported she went to that location for a prearranged fight with another woman. During the altercation, the victim reportedly was sprayed in the face with a chemical by the other woman. And someone else reportedly fired a gun several times, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The incident was reported after the victim went to the hospital.

“She wasn’t very cooperative,” Nicodemus said. “It was the hospital that called us.”
