Topeka police were investigating the armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver late Saturday in the Hi-Crest area of southeast Topeka.

Lt. John Trimble said officers responded at 11:06 p.m. to the 3300 block of S.E. Girard, where the robbery occurred.

Trimble said the victim reported arriving to deliver a pizza at what appeared to be a vacant house in the 3300 block of S.E. Girard.

The pizza delivery driver reported a man was waiting in the driveway. The man displayed a gun and took the pizza and an undisclosed amount of cash from the delivery driver, Trimble said.

After taking the pizza and money, the robber left the area on foot. Police weren't able to locate him, Trimble said.

The robber was described as a man wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood pulled up and covering his face.
