Sigma Chapter Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Organization met Tuesday for dinner at Leon’s Restaurant in Ottawa.
Members celebrated ADK month by assembling 32 dozen homemade cookies onto trays for staff at the four attendance centers at West Franklin District. A business meeting was conducted by President Therese Payne. She gave a Founder’s Day Candle Lighting Ceremony, which honored the ladies who started our organization. The program was by hostess Bonnie Walz. Members played two games with ADK theme.
Roll Call: “Share your favorite ADK memory,” was shared by seven members present. Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were approved as presented. State Historian Brenda Wigger asks that members submit photos to her of chapter activities ASAP. Altruistic projects are Hope House, Franklin County Children’s Literature Festival and Life Care Center. International newsletter was shared from Sue Pelchat. She reminded members to follow footsteps of our founders. The October State Newsletter was shared from Barb Corder. Lila Reekie shared the ADK Moment. The Nov. 13 meeting will be hosted by Brenda Wigger and Patty Nelson.
The meeting was closed with singing of “The Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa.” Those others present were: Gerry Coffman, Barb Engel, Patty Nelson, Janet Radcliffe, and Brenda Wigger.
