• 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, 305 S. Main St., Ottawa, Dereje Smith, 18, Ottawa, on four Franklin County warrants for probation violation.

• 1:04 p.m. Wednesday, 305 S. Main St., Ottawa, Dalton Farrar, 26, Pomona, on four Franklin County warrants for failure to appear.

• 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, 305 S. Main St., Ottawa, Kevin Brown, 53, Melvern, on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear.

Incidents

• 5:22 a.m. Wednesday, 3500 block of Ellis Road, Princeton, a Central Heights employee reported the old press box at the old football field was on fire. The fire was extinguished.

• 6:07 p.m. Wednesday, 305 S. Main St., Ottawa, a 24-year-old Ottawa male battered a 45-year-old Blue Mound male, while both were being housed at the Franklin County Jail.

Accidents

• 12:29 a.m. Wednesday, 2200 block of US-59, Ottawa, Matthew Hastings, 36, Ottawa, male, struck a deer in a Ford Expedition.

• 4:18 a.m. Wednesday, 1400 block of I-35, Williamsburg. Albert Adams, 59, Boone, Iowa, was southbound in a 2016 Ram 3500 when he struck a deer.

• 9:39 p.m. Wednesday, 1300 block of US-59, Ottawa, Melissa Hiner, 46, Garnett, was southbound in a 1998 Toyota Camry when the vehicle caught fire.

• 4:29 a.m. Thursday, 4100 block I-35, William Snyder, 61, Ottawa, was northbound in a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 when he struck a deer

• 8:08 a.m. Thursday, 3700 block of I-35, Hanslee Dunn III, 28, Ottawa, was northbound ina 2003 Ford Mustang when he struck a deer. A criminal report is being forwarded to the county attorney’s office for leaving the scene of an accident, driving while suspended, and interference with law enforcement.

• 7:20 p.m. Thursday, 1500 block of Labette Road, Richard Barraclough, 47, Pomona, was driving a 2003 Chevy Suburban when he struck a deer.

• 8:32 p.m. Thursday, 2300 block I-35, Wesley Horsman, 54, Kansas City, Missouri, was southbound in a 2016 Freightliner when an unknown issue caused his engine to catch on fire while driving.

Thefts

9:54 a.m. Thursday, 4100 block of Reno Road, a 71-year-old Wellsville male reported a 26-year-old Fort Scott female stole a checkbook from his 2010 Ford Fusion.

• 10:22 a.m. Thursday, 1200 block of E. Logan St., Ottawa, a 63-year-old Ottawa male reported the theft of items from a business.

Incidents

• 12:15 p.m. Thursday, 900 block of S. Walnut St., Ottawa, an 18-year-old Ottawa female reported she was battered by a known household member.

• 1:37 p.m. Thursday, 1300 block of S. Main St., RMH staff reported an infant Ottawa male was injured. The case is under investigation.
