NEWTON – Carriage Factory Art Gallery will present the "People's Choice Award" and cash prize to one of the 29 artists represented in its first annual "Holiday Showcase of 12-by-12 Small Works" during Third Thursday activities from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 20.
The exhibit features 2D mediums of image size 12-inch by 12-inch that include oil, acrylic, pastel, photography, mosaic, digital print and fabric.
"All artwork is available for purchase and priced to sell," said gallery director Cindy Snider. "These very affordable works are perfect for gift-giving and we ship anywhere in the USA."
Live music with the NUTS (Newton Ukulele Tunes Society) will be featured, and refreshments will be served. All ages are welcome to the free event.

Carriage Factory Art Gallery is a non-profit organization housed in the original carriage factory and blacksmith shop founded in 1883 by J. J. Krehbiel, co-founder of Bethel College. More than 50 area artists have their work for sale in the gallery and gift shop. The gallery continues its mission to bring the arts and art education to South Central Kansas through the support provided through memberships, donations, sales, facility rental and classes.
Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 12 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Third Thursday events are 6 to 8 p.m. Art classes are held throughout the year.
