An Emporia teen was transported to a hospital after a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Interstate 70 in Wyandotte County, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 7:55 a.m. on westbound I-70 near the 78th Street exit in Kansas City, Kan.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the driver of a Ford Escape lost control of the vehicle, which struck the median barrier.

The driver, identified as Stephanie Rueda, 19, of Emporia, was reported to have a possible minor injury and was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. The patrol said Rueda was wearing a seat belt.

A passenger. Jonathan A. Martinez, 18, also of Emporia, was reported possibly injured. There was no record of hospital treatment for Martinez. The patrol said Martinez was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
