The Ottawa University football team is ranked No. 22 in the NAIA coaches preseason top 25 poll. The Braves were picked second in the KCAC preseason media and coaches poll last week.

Ottawa (8-2) was ranked No. 20 in the final 2018 coaches poll. Fellow conference member Kansas Wesleyan, coming off a semifinal berth in the NAIA playoffs, was ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll.

Defending champion Morningside received all 16 first-place votes to garner the top spot. Benedictine, which fell to Morningside in the title game, was at No. 2 in the poll.

The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place and so on through the list.
