SALINA — Wellsville High School golfer Kaylie Reese put together a solid season, medaling in each tournament.

The junior capped off the season by medaling and placing 19th in the 3-2-1A State Tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Salina Municipal Golf Course. She shot a two-round score of 188.

Reese was the only member of the first-year program.

Ottawa, another first-year program, saw two of its golfers qualify for state. Aubrey Vasquez and Kaitlyn Carrier competed in the 4A tourney at Hesston. Aubrey Vasquez shot a 107 and Kaitlyn Carrier carded a 125 in Monday’s first round, but did not qualify for the second round.
