Renate Gordon, 77, Princeton, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.

Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Garnett, with burial following at Garnett Cemetery. The family will meet friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Stuttgart, Germany, the daughter of Willie and Barbara Werle.

Renate grew up in Germany where she met and married Dale Gordon on Jan. 4, 1961. This union was blessed with six children. She made her citizenship in the early 1970s. Renate was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and worked at Cedarhouse Nursing Home and Crestview Nursing Home, both in Ottawa, Kansas.

Her daughter Cindy was her caregiver for many years. Renate enjoyed watching WWE SmackDown and Judge Judy. Her greatest passion was her family, enjoying spending time with them. She enjoyed crocheting and loved her dogs, Lucky, Heidi, Molly and Maggie. Renate also enjoyed dancing Polka until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jessie Ray Gordon.

Renate is survived by her husband, Dale Gordon, of the home; three sons, Arnold Gordon and step-daughter, Amanda of Ottawa, Kansas; David Gordon and wife Melinda of Galena, Kansas; Eric Gordon and wife Liz of Ottawa; three daughters, twin daughters, Cindy Sanchez of Princeton and Sylvia Morales and husband Lorenzo of Ottawa; Dirana Velez of Princeton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and extended family members.
