Janice L. Wilkins, 70, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa.

To celebrate Janice’s life, services will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Grace Episcopal Church, 315 W. Fifth St., Ottawa. Cremation will follow. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa.

She was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Earl R. Davis and Marjorie L. (Petzenhausen) Davis. She grew up and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll. She attended college in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she met her future husband, Roger C. Crews.

Janice moved to Ottawa, Kansas, in 1970 with her husband Roger where they owned and operated a Daylight Doughnut Shop downtown for several years. She and Roger later founded, owned and operated R & J Accounting in Ottawa, Kansas, where Janice worked as an accountant and tax advisor.

Janice was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Ottawa, where she volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She also was a member of the Ottawa Soroptimist Club for many years. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and also enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, sewing and reading in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Roger C. Crews and Arnold P. Wilkins; and a sister, Suzanne K. Dozler.

Janice is survived by two sons, Roger N. Crews and his wife Christy M. of Linwood, Kansas; and Matthew P. Wilkins of Ottawa; her sister Monica Christensen and husband Paul of Manning, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Sadie Crews.
