Lena Belle Moore, 95, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away June 27, 2017, at Ransom Memorial Health hospital, Ottawa.

Graveside services were Monday, July 2, 2018, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas

Lena Belle was born March 22, 1923, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Charles S. Williamson and Lela Belle (Reneau) Williamson. She grew up in Ottawa, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1941.

Prior to her marriage, Lena Belle spent a year and a half in Skagway, Alaska, working in food services for the construction of the Alaska/Canada Highway during WWII. Most of her life she was a full-time Air Force wife. She was very supportive of local animal shelters, baking goods for them to sell at fundraisers and giving donations. She was an expert pie and bread maker. She won numerous years of first place blue ribbons at the Franklin County Fair for her canning and her baked goods. She was the matriarch of her family. All of her family came to her when they needed advice or help. Most precious in her life was her family, her children, and her dogs which she loved dearly.

On Aug. 6, 1949, Lena Belle was united in marriage to Charles Powell Moore at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They shared 51 years of loving marriage until Charles preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2000.

Lena Belle is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Williamson; and sister, Nancy Broers.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Kristine Moore, Ottawa; son, Mike Moore and his wife, Lucille, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two granddaughters, Nicole Holzhammer and her husband, Joe, Hawaii, Traci Olson, Denver, Colorado; sister, Ruth Lorraine Ratzlaff, Ottawa, Kansas; sister-in-law, Lorena “Biz” Williamson, Lawrence, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
