Chelsea Jo Shanklin-Lewis, 30, died Aug. 24, 2018, at her home in Williamsburg.
A Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at the Bethany Chapel Baptist Church in Ottawa, Kansas.
She was born June 13, 1988, in Spokane, Washington to Teresa Johnson and Robert Shanklin. She moved to Kansas when she was six months old.
Chelsea was a 2006 graduate of Ottawa High School and a graduate of Centriq of Kansas City, with a degree in Network Engi-neering, furthering her education through online courses at KSU. She was a self-employed IT Specialist and loved all things computer related.
On March 17, 2016, Chelsea’s life was complete when she gave birth to her son and pride and joy, Braxton Alexander Lewis. He was her greatest achievement!
Chelsea loved spending time with her son, family and friends. She also had a great passion for music and loved attending concerts. She enjoyed watching sports (Chiefs, Royals and KU basketball.
She was a stubborn, headstrong light-hearted, witty free spirit and she will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her son, Braxton Lewis of the home, her mother Teresa Brown and husband Rodney of Lacey, Washington, her dad and step-mother, Wendell Lewis, Jr. and Priscilla Carter of Ottawa, Kansas, her father, Robert Shanklin and wife Tricia of Bremerton, Washington; her sisters, Cydney Lewis of Roanoke, Texas, Kayla Hermreck (cousin), Garnett, Kansas; Shalea and Terai Shanklin, Colville, Washington, brothers, Chuyler and Levi Shanklin, Omak Washington, maternal grandmother, Florence Johnson of Lacey, Washington, paternal grandfather, Wendell Lewis, Sr. of Ottawa, Kansas. as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Thelma Lewis, and grandparents Christopher and Patricia Johnson, and grandparents Wilson and Francine Shanklin.
