Lloyd Richard Heth II, 73, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab, Baldwin City, Kansas.

Memorial funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. He was born Jan. 16, 1945, at Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Lloyd Richard Heth and Ethel (Hull) Heth. Rick was a lifelong Ottawa resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1963. From 1965 to 1969, Rick served his country in the United States Navy

In 1969, Rick began his working career for Ottawa Mill Works. He worked there until 1984 as a cabinet maker. From 1984 to 1994, Rick was a salesman and installer for Ottawa Home Furnishing. From 1994 to 2003, Rick worked at Dengel & Son Mortuary as their cemetery specialist. He always considered it an honor to help people in their time of need.

Rick was an avid reader. He loved classic cars and enjoyed his years of coaching his boys in baseball when they were young. Rick was a quiet and kind man who with his wife, Leanna, always welcomed his children’s friends into their home. He always had time for a good story and a strong cup of coffee. Dearest to Rick was his family who he loved dearly.

On June 4, 1968, Rick was united in marriage to Leanna Gates in Garnett, Kansas. Rick and Leanna celebrated their 50th year of marriage this past June.

Rick is survived by his wife, Leanna Heth, Ottawa; son, Kenneth Heth and his fiancé, Jeanette Long, Ottawa; daughter Joanna Greenstein, Minneola, Florida; sister, Penne Rowland and her husband, John, Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Baiden Greenstein and Kayden Greenstein; niece, Kristi Stinebaugh; nephews, Paul Rowland, Ben Hill and Stephen Hill; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sandra and Steve Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jimmie Heth.
