Central Heights coach Rusty Cannady said the Vikings had a case of the third quarter blues. Central Heights scored just three points in the quarter.

“We competed pretty well with one of the best teams in the state for three quarters,” he said.  “The third quarter we were like deer in headlights.  Standing around and looking to see what was going to happen.  We guarded pretty well.

“We had a five minute stretch where we gave them five offensive rebounds and that hurt us. Playing a team like Wellsville, you cannot give them extra possessions.  Those possessions ended up being a big part of the result.

“Offensively we need to step up and make shots.”

Wellsville plays Tuesday at home against Anderson County.

Central Heights returns home Monday to face Jayhawk-Linn.
