Napper leads WF in MdCV meet

LYNDON — West Franklin High School junior Josh Napper opened the track season Friday with a bang in the Marais des Cygnes Valley Invitational in Lyndon.

He won the 100-, 200-meter races. He was second in the long jump where he set a school record with a leap of 19 feet, 8.5 inches. The former record was held by Dakota Starbuck (2011). He also anchored the 1,600 relay to third.

The boys finished third with 92 points.

Freshman Fallon Dyer started her high school track career with silver medals in the 200 and 400, a bronze in the 1,600 relay, and a fourth place finish in the 100.
