OHS golfers win tourney

OSAWATOMIE — The Ottawa High School golfers won the Osawatomie tourney Tuesday by a stroke over Paola and Iola.

Ottawa was coming off a fourth-place finish Monday at the Hayden tourney. Ottawa had a 338. The Cyclones shot a season-best 318 at Osawatomie.

“It was good to finally get into the top three as a team,” Ottawa coach Cliff McCullough said. “We have been hanging around that fourth or fifth spot for most tournaments. The Osawatomie tourney was great because we got to compete against Paola and Iola, who are both in our regional.

“I feel like these are the teams that will compete for that state berth.”

Ottawa plays today at Spring Hill.

Osawatomie
