Braves falls to William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. — The Ottawa University baseball team was swept Thursday by NCAA Division II William Jewell in Liberty, Mo. The Braves fell 11-3 and 8-0.

Ottawa jumped on top of the Cardinals 2-0 early in the opener. William Jewell scored five runs in the third to take control of the game.

Ottawa jumped on top of the Cardinals 2-0 early in the opener. William Jewell scored five runs in the third to take control of the game.

Josh Reynolds led Ottawa two RBIs. Bret Stratton pitched 4 1/3 innings in the loss. He had three strikeouts.

Ottawa was limited to three hits in the second game. Kyle Pener, Kaylem Quinn and Jacob Loucks all had one hit apiece. Matthew Schwindt had two strikeouts in three innings on the mound.

Friday’s final home doubleheader of the season against Friends was postponed and rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday. The seniors will be honored.

Ottawa plays today in Wichita against Friends.
