Lions roll to win

The Lions defeated the Elks, 14-4, Thursday at Harvey M. Drake Field in a senior Ottawa Recreation Commission baseball game.

Brock Huddlestun was the winning pitcher as he went two innings giving up a run and had four strikeouts. Driestin Aho pitched two innings giving up a run and had three strikeouts. Trenton Ferguson went an inning with three strikeouts.

Chandler Bloomer pitch-ed four innings for the Elks and had five strikeouts.

The Lions offense was spearheaded by Huddlestun’s two long doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Owen Lamar had a hit, two RBIs and two runs scored. Trenton Ferguson, Koby Becker and Thomas Starr had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Brandon Carlson had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored. Colson Bien and Derrek Ferguson also scored runs.

The Elks were led by Drew Bones with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Bloomer also had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Tyler Desilvia scored the other run.

There was a nice double play turned in by the Lions as Carlson, Lamar and Starr combined for the defensive play of the night. Dawson Kaub had several nice defensive plays for the Elks as did Grant Maxwell.
