All returning 2012 first and second team all-KCAC performers were nominated for preseason honors. Coaches also had the opportunity to nominate other key members from their teams for the preseason squad.

Ottawa junior offensive lineman Austin Britt joined Hilliger on the preseason offensive squad.

Junior kicker Jeff Stamp and sophomore returner Dexter Hayes were picked to the special teams. Both were second team KCAC selections last year.

Friends linebacker Marcus Carter tops the defensive team. He led the conference in tackles and tackles for loss in 2012.

He recorded 149 tackles (89 unassisted), 21 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, and a 100-yard interception returned for a touchdown last season.
