Lady Braves volleyball sweeps Southwestern

WINFIELD — The Ottawa University volleyball team moved its record to 8-9 overall and 5-2 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 25-15, 25-18, 25-16 victory Tuesday over Southwestern College in Winfield.

The Lady Braves are a 1 1/2 game back of KCAC leader Kansas Wesleyan University (6-0).

The Lady Braves had two players in double figure kills, led by Nicole Gingery’s 11.

She finished with a .316 hitting percentage.

Taylor Bridge was right behind her with 10 kills. She had a .600 hitting percentage.

Christa Hill and Lindsey Widen both tallied 14 assists apiece for Ottawa.

Mohsani Hoveyda finished with nine digs.

Ottawa plays 7 p.m. today at Wilson Field House against Baker University.
