WELLSVILLE — The West Franklin and Wellsville high school volleyball team both went 3-2 with the Eagles coming out on top in the third-place match Saturday in the Wellsville Invitational.

“We played well during the pool games, but in bracket play we were not sharp,” West Franklin coach Angie Corwine said. “It was a tough tournament with several ranked teams so it was great to see so much competition with the season coming to a close.”

“We stubbed our toe a couple of times, but overall I was pleased with our effort throughout the day,” Wellsville coach Eric Evans said. “I thought we did a really good job of rebounding from the losses. We had to play as a team. We still need to badly work on our passing consistency, but I’m convinced that these girls have what it takes to improve in that area.”
