The Arrows bounced back in convincing fashion Thursday afternoon.

A 5-0 shutout of Arkansas City in the loser's bracket of the AAA State Tournament on South Field at Orlis Cox Sports Complex, 901 W. Second St., Ottawa, puts Post 60 in Friday's second game. They will play roughly noon against Nickerson.

Ottawa took an early 2-0 lead against Ark City in the first inning, and added to it in the top of the fifth off an RBI groundout by Trevor Boehm, catcher, that scored Jared Parenti, outfielder, from third.

Donovan Sutti, third baseman, blasted a two-out, two-run home run to right field two batters later to give the Arrows a comfortable lead.

Trenton Ferguson, pitcher, picked up the victory after tossing seven scoreless innings.
