Ottawa University added a local name to its athletic program.

The men’s golf program recently announced the signing of Jordan Bulcock from Paola. He is a transfer from Johnson County Community College, and attended Paola High School.

“Jordan has been committed for some time, so his signing was more of a formality,” Wendell Smith, OU head men’s golf coach, said. “We are very excited to have a player and a person of his caliber join our team. Jordan was successful in high school golf, and someone that I took notice of because of my personal history as a coach at Paola. I am excited to have another Paola Panther join the Ottawa Braves.”

Bulcock lettered in golf at Paola High School. He was a three-time Kansas State Tournament qualifier, and was the 2016 league and regional champion. Bulcock finished sixth at the Kansas 4A State Tournament, and had a total of four tournament wins. He was named Tri-County Spotlight Golfer of the Year.

“Jordan will be a good fit on our team,” said Smith. “He has the emotional stability required to be a successful golfer, and will certainly contribute to any success we have in the near future. Our men’s roster has tremendous potential, and his experience as a regional champion and state medalist will certainly help us.”

Bulcock is the son of Jim and Shelley Bulcock, and plans to major in marketing.
