POMONA — West Franklin put on a dominate show Tuesday against Central Heights

The Lady Falcons volleyball team swept the Lady Vikings 25-11, 25-8 and 25-17, 25-16 on Pack the House Night at West Franklin High School, 511 E. Franklin St., Pomona. The win boosts West Franklin to 3-1, and drops Central Heights to 2-7.

West Franklin’s hitters were efficient. Kamryn Prouty, junior, led the team with 15 kills, and had a .347 attacking percentage. Kirsten Hoyt, senior, had 12 kills, no errors on 18 swings and a .675 attacking percentage. Brooke Flory, sophomore, had nine kills, a .585 attacking percentage and had no errors in the second match. Ainsley Corwine, freshman, had 39 assists at setter.

“[Ainsley] did a better job this week of running our offense and getting the hitters in position to be more efficient,” Angie Corwine, West Franklin head volleyball coach, said.

The Lady Falcons won the first 15 points in the second set of the first match, all off the serving of Kennedi Meiers, junior.

“The stats don’t show this, but [Meiers] got Central Heights out of system with her serving which made for some easy kills for our hitters,” Corwine said. “Overall we made steps in the right direction which should help build some confidence going in to next week.”

West Franklin plays 5 p.m. Tuesday at Chase County.

Central Heights plays 5 p.m. Tuesday at home against Mission Valley.
