WELLSVILLE – Lady Eagles volleyball put on a show for its home crowd Thursday. Wellsville topped both visiting West Franklin and Eudora in its home triangular to improve to 8-8.

The Lady Eagles swept West Franklin 25-19, 25-20. They came back strong after dropping the first set to Eudora, winning 15-25, 25-23, 25-16.

“There were some exciting moments in both matches for sure, and having a loud and proud home crowd helped tremendously,” Eric Evans, Wellsville High School head volleyball coach, said. “I think the girls found out a lot about themselves as players and as a team.”

Grace Newhouse, senior, led the team with 21 kills and four blocks. Jordan Stringfield, senior, had 20 kills, three blocks and 25 digs. Grace Showalter, junior, had 30 assists and was sharp serving, tallying four aces.

West Franklin dropped both matches, losing in straight sets to Eudora in its second match. The Lady Falcons (4-4) play 5 p.m. Monday at Olpe.
