EMPORIA – The Lady Cyclones dropped a pair of close matches just ahead of their home tournament.

Ottawa lost to Mill Valley 25-18, 25-15, and Emporia 25-23, 26-24 Thursday in Emporia.

The Lady Cyclones (11-14) will be back at home today for the first time since Sept. 12. They host the Ottawa Invitational starting 8 a.m. at Ottawa High School, 1120 S. Ash St., Ottawa. The tournament is set to include Bishop Miege, Lansing, Highland Park, Olathe West and Olathe Northwest.

Kamryn Shaffer, senior outside hitter, leads the OHS offense this season with 149 kills. Payton Bruce, junior middle blocker, has 41 season blocks, and Allina Kerns, junior libero, has 157 digs.
