DE SOTO – The No. 4-ranked team in 5A volleyball was too much for the Lady Cyclones Tuesday. Ottawa fell at De Soto 25-16, 25-15, 25-10 in a Frontier League match in De Soto.

It marked Ottawa’s first loss in four matches to bring its record to an even 17-17.

Kamryn Shaffer, senior outside hitter, leads the Lady Cyclone offense with 198 kills thus far this season. Payton Bruce, junior middle blocker, has 52 total blocks, and Allina Kerns, junior libero, lead the team with 221 digs.

The volleyball team’s schedule doesn’t get easier as the Cyclones travel to Louisburg Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. showdown with the Wildcats. Louisburg is ranked No. 2 in 4A.
